Russian women are renowned for their beauty. They always make an effort to look beautiful for their men. However, this is not the only aspect that is important in their system of values. First and foremost, they strive to be good wives and mothers, as well as respected members of society.
There are a lot more unmarried women in Russian than men. As such, single women want to look attractive in an effort to find a man. Finding a good husband is hard, but they know that keeping one is just as hard. Because of this, women endeavor to look their best even after they are married.
Women will rarely leave their homes without make-up, smart clothes and an attractive hair style. Most are slim because they eat very small portions of food. They usually have well-toned bodies and are very fit. Much of this is due to the fact that they walk a lot because the majority of Russian women do not drive.
Whenever possible, women like to grow their own vegetables and make their own clothes. This is even more important if the couple is on a tight budget. Such a situation will be accepted gracefully. If necessary, a Russian wife is quite happy to be her own stylist, designer, dietician, make-up artist and personal trainer.
Family definitely takes top priority. To achieve respect socially, a woman should be married with children. She will put this above all else, even her desire for a career. In Russia, an unmarried woman is frowned upon.
As such, an unmarried woman will put her main focus on seeking a husband. While she is not afraid of working hard, she will try to find a husband that is fairly wealthy. This will make her feel secure while she is busy bringing up the children. Because of this, a lot of Russian women look for older men who are financially stable.
Women put so much focus on their families instead of their careers for another reason. This is because, in the job market, there is still much discrimination against women. Men are still given preference despite a woman's qualifications or capabilities. This clearly shows that the commercial sector also expects a wife to put her husband and family first.
A wife will therefore do her utmost to assist her husband in building a successful career for himself, with no focus on her own life. If money is tight and there is only sufficient to pay for one to study, she will happily let her husband have the chance to better himself. However, if she has to work to provide a second income, she will gladly oblige.
If a wife does work, she will feel very uncomfortable if her income is bigger than that of her husband. Although it might appear that they feel inferior to men, this is far from the truth. Russian women do not like being ordered around. They consider marriage as a partnership between two equals and they demand appreciation and respect.
