Event photography, these days is an appealing profession. An event photographer is one who is present at marriages, sports events, concerts, award ceremonies etc. to take photos of the occasion.
There is a false impression among many people that all an event photographer does is just turn up at the venue with a camera and keep clicking away merrily. But, the truth is actually the contrary. The photographer must be ready with his equipment and camera well in advance to the beginning of the event. Taking the job lightly and appearing in an event without any planning will severely undermine your chances of doing well in this career.
It is obvious that an event photographer must be fully acquainted with his trade. Familiarity with the technical features of photography gadgets affects the outcome. The use of illumination and various angles is very important in any form of photography and a photographer must know how to make use of them in various situations.
Offering an event photography service also implies that you are in business. You are no longer an recreational photographer taking a few pics for friends you are a professional. Because you are in business you will need to enhance your non-photography skills such as your people and communication skills.
