If you mess up on the first date, chances are, the girl won't stick around long enough for a second date. To help you avoid this situation, here are a few tips:
1. Make sure to take a shower before your date and look as well groomed as possible.
Hygiene is the most important thing on first dates. Look clean and fresh, shave beforehand, and make sure you smell good.
2. Never make the girl wait.
If you really want to make a good impression, never let your date wait. This may lead her to think that you don't care about her enough or that you're simply unreliable and arrogant. Just try to get to the date earlier than the time you agree on. Who knows, you may even think of a great entrance scheme for the girl.
3. Be a gentleman.
Women feel that they are more valued in the presence of a gentleman. Simple things such as opening doors for her and letting her pass through first always impresses the ladies.
4. Listen to what she is saying.
Don't drown her out by constantly talking about yourself. Make her feel like you're interested to know about her. Listen very carefully to the things she tells you so you know how to respond appropriately.
5. Offer to shoulder the bill.
As a gentleman, it's always advised that you pay for the woman's share as well. Typically, women nowadays offer to pay but it always makes a good impression to at least offer.
6. Drive safely on the way home.
You want to get your date home safe and sound; you don't want her ending up fearing for her life. Also, avoid drinking too much on the first date. It doesn't make a good impression; you don't want to have your date drive your car home. Doing this will eliminate a second date for sure.
