A Corporate Band - An Important Part Of A Successful Day

by Justine Smith

If you have a company function coming up and are the person responsible for hiring corporate bands, you will be pleased to know that most bands are equally as happy to play at corporate events as they are on say, birthday, wedding and bar mitzvah occasions. This is great news for you as you can be sure your chosen band will perform a wide variety of music catering for everyone's taste.

Finding corporate bands is not as difficult as you may first think. In fact, looking on line or browsing through the music bands and agents in the yellow pages, usually gets your search well under way.

How do I know the band that I am booking is any good for my company? After all you will probably feeling anxious to get a good band that pleases everyone on the day, most importantly your boss! Any good experienced band is going to have its own website or social networking page.

Now that you have a band that plays the sort of music you want at the event. How do you know they are any good? They should have some of their songs their site or some videos. In conjunction they will have past testimonials from happy clients.

Of course, if checking out the band in person is more your approach, then why not go along and watch them perform live at one of their local gigs?

How much you pay is totally dependent on the location of the event, when it is being held, how far the band have to travel to it, how experienced and good the band are. Expect to pay at least five times as much as a pub band. The music is something you really cannot skimp on even in these financially hard times.

Please bear in mind when booking any good band it is very likely that you are going to have to book months in advance just to secure a date with the band.

When dates and terms have been agreed, you have to make sure your venue holds a live music license as this is necessary for the band to carry out their performance. Having done the most important thing and found the right band, if the venue does not have a license, you may have to look for an alternative location for your event. After all, you want everyone attending to enjoy the experience and remember it for how successful it was.

Good corporate bands like to know a few details about where they are playing once you have agreed terms. This can include parking arrangements, the stage area, number of power outlets for the band etc.
