Traditions and customs are what make up a wedding ceremony. They bring up a kind of acknowledgment and pureness to a marriage. Clearly there are a whole lot of practices and customs related to marriages in the world, some are very popular. These are some popular wedding traditions, those which are liked by everybody.

The wedding veil is simply among the most popular wedding traditions particularly from the side of bride. It is based on the custom of olden days where the bride showing her face to groom before wedding was not considered good. A wedding veil is so used to keep the bride's face covered. The veil is also considered to supply protection to the bride from evil spirits.

White is one of the most popular color for the bridal dresses. This wedding custom gathered popularity when Queen Victoria chose to wear white on her wedding day. Also, it is thought that a woman who selects to wear white on her D day is choosing the right man. Colours like red, yellow, pearl, black and grey are not considered lucky for wedding gowns.

Throwing rice at the newly married couple is yet another very hip marriage convention. This wedding convention is practiced at numerous weddings to date. Rice is regarded as symbolic of fertility simply because of the fact that it grows in spades. Throwing rice at the newly married couple symbolizes fertility and prosperous wedding life.

Another popular marriage custom is keeping the bride to the left. This wedding custom dates back numerous years back. In the ancient days, it was believed that envious suitors might just wish to take away the bride. So , the bride was put left to the groom secured firmly with the groom's left hand. This was done in an attempt to keep the right hand free so that the groom can fight any jealous suitors if the need be so.

One of the most typical and popular wedding custom is the wedding kiss. The wedding kiss did not evolve as an effect of some creative imagination. Instead, this wedding convention goes back to the Roman times. The kiss was believed to be a symbol of the legal sealing of the wedding. However, for for the marriage to be considered legal, it was important that a 3rd person witness the kiss.

The bridal bouquet is another important tradition of wedding ceremony. However, the modern act of a bride carrying a bouquet is more of a style factor, earlier the bouquet was supposed to hold herbs that defended the bride from malicious spirits.

Today these traditions might appear mere carry-overs from past but they actually make the wedding rite engaging and beautiful.
