You've cheated on your husband and now you're wondering how long you should wait before you try to get him back. It's not a bad question to ask and it will depend on a lot of mitigating factors. Don't make excuses. Men and women view the world in a completely different way. He'll have so much more respect for you if you accept responsibility without making excuses or attempting to shift blame. Even if you know deep down inside that the actions or inactions as the case may be of your husband directly led to your cheating, now is not that time to let him know.
He needs to know how you really feel and how sorry you really are. He needs to know that you are being completely sincere. If it's not easy for you to say the words out loud then it might be a great idea to put it all in writing. Sometimes it's just easier to pour the words out on paper, where you know you will not be judged, than to take the risk of speaking them and getting them wrong or getting carried away by emotion and saying something you really never intended to say.
This is time when it is best not to waste words. Don't offer information that isn't asked for. Choose the words carefully and then read what you've written out loud to see how it sounds to your own ears. If it sounds good, honest, and heartfelt to you then the odds are good that it will sound that way to your ex as well. Also remember that it is important not to justify or attempt to justify the affair. Do these things and you just might have on real winner of an apology.
