Inward expression

There are three rough categories to describe the ways that people usually express anger. The first is the inward expression. As it personally relates to you, this is the most dangerous kind of expression. With this expression, you keep your anger inside you and do not let it out in any way. The result of this is that the anger grows into changes into rage.

More than that happens when this type of expression is used. Inward of expressions of anger also has the ability to make you sick. Many times it is found that people who express anger inwardly develop chronic illnesses like high blood pressure that can be directly attributed to the results of inwardly expressed anger.

Outward expression

Anger that is expressed outwardly reveals itself in shouting, sarcasm, threatening and violence. While it is a better way for you personally to express your anger, the difficulty with doing this is that often times other people return this expression with an angry reaction of their own. The end result of this is a problem that extends beyond the moment.

Calming

Calming is by far the best way to express anger. With this form you don't get sick, and you don't make others angry in return. This form gives you the best chances of seeing your situation fixed so that you are no longer angry, and so that others are not angered either.

If you are going to calmly channel your anger you will need to learn how to master the time period between when you are angered and the time that you respond to your anger. There are a lot of anger management strategies that will help you to get this done.
